Ice hockey has always been a sport of passion, strategy, and determination. This spirit has now brought forth a new team into the virtual world of Eiszeit-Manager—the Plestioara Flyers. As a fresh entry into this German-developed online sports management game, the Flyers mark the beginning of an exciting journey for their manager.
A First Step into the Game
Starting an Eiszeit-Manager team has been a long-awaited goal. Previous attempts to register were met with frustration due to email confirmation issues, but persistence finally paid off. Now, with a team officially in the system, the challenge begins.
A Short History of Eiszeit-Manager
Eiszeit-Manager is an online ice hockey management simulation where players take control of their own club, making decisions on finances, player development, and match strategies. Created by German developers, the game has a predominantly German-speaking community, though it also attracts managers from other countries. Unlike many similar simulations, Eiszeit-Manager does not feature bot teams, making every league competitive and dynamic.
Playing in Eastern Europe’s 6th Division
Unfortunately, Romania is not represented in the game, leaving the Plestioara Flyers to adopt Slovenia as their home. The team competes in the 6th Division of East Europe, alongside teams from Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Latvia. Due to the limited number of active managers, the league currently consists of only nine teams instead of the full twelve.
The First Steps of Management
Every new club starts with €150,000 in the bank, a reasonable amount ensuring financial stability without excessive inflation.
The first priority was managing club finances carefully:
-
Sponsorships: Two sponsorship contracts were signed on day one, securing an initial revenue stream.
-
Fan Shop: A fan shop was constructed to help generate additional income over time.
-
Arena Expansion: The team begins with a modest 400-seat arena, with plans already in place to expand and accommodate a growing fanbase.
First Game and Key Players
The Flyers' debut match ended in a 1-4 loss against the current league leader. While the result wasn't ideal, the performance showed promise.
The standout player in the squad is 24-year-old Slovenian winger Dejan Murin, expected to play a crucial role in the team's future successes.
A Season of Discovery
This inaugural season for the Plestioara Flyers is all about learning the mechanics of the game, building a competitive team, and establishing a foothold in the league. With a dedicated manager at the helm, the team has a bright future ahead in the challenging yet rewarding world of Eiszeit-Manager.
