Starting from scratch in a new game is always an adventure—but when your debut match ends in a 13-0 victory, you know you're onto something special. That’s how my journey with the Cerbura Sabres began in LiveHockey.org, an online hockey management game developed in Sweden.
This is my first time playing a game like this—no prior experience, just curiosity and a love for hockey. But LiveHockey.org immediately pulled me in with its depth, strategy, and the feeling that you're not just coaching a team—you're building a club, a brand, a future.
The World of LiveHockey.org
LiveHockey.org is more than just a simulator—it's a full-fledged hockey management experience. Founded in Sweden, the game has evolved into a global platform with managers from dozens of countries, all competing in national leagues and international tournaments.
You control every detail: player training, lineup strategy, finances, contracts, and even your arena’s development. It’s a game that rewards patience, planning, and smart decision-making. And unlike many hockey games out there, this one is deeply community-driven, with helpful forums and active leagues.
A Team With Unexpected Roots
When I created my team, Cerbura Sabres, I naturally searched for Romanian players—after all, I wanted to represent my country. But the game didn’t offer Romanian players at the time, so I looked across the border and built my roster with Hungarian talent. It was a practical move, but also a fun twist—turning a limitation into an opportunity.
Hungarian players brought a strong, balanced style to the team, and as it turned out, they were exactly what I needed.
An Explosive Debut
Our first official match? An absolute blowout:
Cerbura Sabres 13 – 0 Ursviken HC.
I honestly expected a rough start. Maybe a narrow loss, or at best a tight win. But my squad came out sharp, focused, and dominant. It wasn’t just a win—it was a statement. The Cerbura Sabres were not here to participate—we were here to compete.
Strategy Beyond the Ice: Focus on the Economy
While some managers chase quick wins or star player transfers, I’m taking a long-game approach. My primary focus is on the club’s economy. Success in LiveHockey.org isn’t just about the scoreboard—it's about sustainability.
Right now, my main strategy is to develop the arena, increasing capacity and improving facilities to bring in more fans and more revenue. The bigger the arena, the more money we make. And that means stronger squads in the future, better training options, and more flexibility on the transfer market.
It’s not flashy, but it’s smart—and I believe it’s the foundation of a lasting dynasty.
A Growing Global League
What makes LiveHockey.org special is its international flavor. It’s rare to find a game where you can compete with (and learn from) managers in countries you’ve never visited. The game feels alive, with leagues full of real competition, passionate users, and a constant sense of progression.
Whether you're in Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Canada, or anywhere in between, there’s a place for you—and a rival waiting on the ice.
